I Am Me is the story of Nica Jolee, the anticipation her parents felt preparing for her arrival and the attributes she has inherited from both her parents. Though her eyes are green and her hair curls like her mommy's, and she has freckles all over and likes to make things like her daddy, Nica Jolee is an individual. Charmingly told, and illustrated, this story encourages children to see their connections to family and their own uniqueness. I Am Me has quickly become a favorite bedtimestory for my grandchildren. My four year old granddaughter Sierra has changed her middle name. She now goes around the house singing, "I am me, Sierra Jolee. And there is no one else like me." What a wonderful lesson Jennifer Leese has created with her new book, I Am Me.
