Lucy Blake is a spirited, compassionate schoolteacher who's decided 'Mr Happily Ever After' definitely doesn't exist for her. Fate intervenes when she's almost knocked unconscious. Her hazy vision clears, and she finds herself face to face with a devilishly handsome ... priest!

The mysterious disappearance of a seemingly worthless painting from the school's museum, together with the swoon worthy priest's questionable identity, has Lucy playing super sleuth. Suddenly, her humdrum life is looking immeasurably better.

Father Xavier, better known as Xavier Lamont, private investigator, has gone undercover as a teaching priest to investigate the theft of a painting. The last thing he needs, or expects, is to encounter a feisty, curvaceous teacher who has him hot under his fake dog collar and doing her best to prove he's a phoney, and blow his cover along the way.

Lucy Blake, a teacher at St. Augustine's, had stopped by the school museum for her daily viewing of the Reginald Diamond painting she had found at a garage sale, bought for five dollars, and donated to the school. But that painting of Reggie, the town founder, was gone. In her rush to the Principal, Roger Jordan, to reveal the bad news, she walked out of her shoes and fell on her keester on the wet St. Augustine turf.

Stomping the mud from her shoes, she wasn't looking where she was going when she collided with the new guy on the block, Father Xavier. One of the first things she noticed about said priest was how he was darting some very unpriestly looks at her. He was an amazingly tempting specimen, especially for a priest. But if he was a priest, what were all of those hot looks about?

Father Xavier was actually Xavier Lamont, private investigator, pretending to be a history teacher teaching the history of Diamond City. He'd been called by the principal, a longtime friend of his father's, to find the painting which was valued at fifty thousand dollars. He was thrown together with Lucy until finally the truth about what he was really doing there came out of the closet. And that's when they started investigating that missing painting in earnest, as well as investigating their mutual attraction.

FALLING FOR A FATHER is a sweet romance written by a teacher-the school scenes and the students ring true. Add together the "cute meeting," the missing painting, a few interesting characters like Lucy's housemate, Julia, and Snigger the cockatoo, a certain hideous fluorescent orange dress with pink velvet flowers, and some music by Dean Martin, and you have a Romantic comedy with its own unique Australian flavor.

Raven haired, super sexy schoolteacher Lucy Blake had a bad habit of letting people take advantage of her. She kept telling herself to quit, but it happened despite her best intentions. First, Lucy had allowed herself to follow her parents' dictates and become a teacher, instead of following her dream of becoming a director. And now a painting that Lucy had donated to the school museum where she worked had turned up missing, and she had been asked to stay out of the investigation! Fat chance! It was her painting, and she'd help to find it. The principal of the school had hired a private investigator, but wouldn't tell Lucy anything about it. Would she ever stop letting people walk all over her?

Xavier Lamont had been a private investigator for quite some time. He owned his own agency, and was very successful. But his cases had become mundane lately. That's why he jumped at the offer to find the missing painting. Although, in hindsight, maybe pretending to be a priest and a schoolteacher wasn't the best idea he could have had. Priests weren't supposed to have ungodly thoughts. And the thoughts Xavier was having about Lucy were definitely deliciously sinful. He couldn't get her out of his mind. His feelings went beyond relief when Lucy discovered that he wasn't a priest. Finally, he could put his seduction in motion-guilt free!

While Xavier did all he could to get Lucy to acknowledge the attraction between them, Lucy did everything in her power to resist the powerful pull of Xavier's kiss. But working together on this case was going to be the downfall of them both. Constantly being thrown in each other's company was wreaking havoc on their hormones. And who would have thought Lucy would ever fall in love with "Father" Xavier?

FALLING FOR FATHER was delightful! A blend of bashfulness and boldness, Lucy was charming as the heroine. And Xavier was devastatingly depicted as a sinfully delectable-even though Lucy thought he was untouchable-specimen of creation! All throughout the story, it felt like I was right there with them, either hearing their thoughts or watching them interact. Such descriptive writing is a treat to find.

FALLING FOR FATHER has very effectively whetted my appetite for more from Catriona Reynolds! She creates believable characters with human attributes, and charming story lines and plot settings. I am looking forward to more from her!

Not just a father but one she has the most lustful thoughts you could have, and it is only 9:30 in the morning.

He is to teach high school English as a cover, walking to class he ran into Lucy Blake and the feelings he gets for her are not priestly at all.

Xavier was having a hard time not thinking about Lucy, he is there to investigate a missing painting, and dressed, as a priest, was not helping him at all. Now he has to teach 2 classes of high school kids English, hoping to not make a fool of himself, and to have pure thoughts. This was a good fast read. If you like a Contemporary Romantic Comedy, then you will like Falling For A Father. It has humour and very entertaining. The characters in this story are everyday people you see and like. This makes Falling For A Father a story that is very believable.

At 29 years of age, Lucy Blake figured her time to find that special someone and live happily ever after was long gone. She didn't want to settle for just anyone and she didn't want to change herself, either. She wanted someone to fall in love with her just as she was.

Her profession as a History teacher, along with English and Drama took up a good portion of her time. She was also one of the caretakers of the museum at the school, which housed some of the important treasures of their beloved Diamond City, the town in which they all lived.

While Lucy was in the museum before classes started, she realized one of their most prestigious paintings was missing. She kept looking, focusing her eyes on the spot where it used to hang, but it was definitely not there. Who could have taken their highly esteemed Reginald Diamond?

It had been a major find for Lucy when she came across it quite by accident. Knowing what an important discovery this was she donated her acquisition to the school museum. Each time she stepped foot inside those hallowed walls, her first stop was to see Reggie and swell with pride at what she had accomplished for her school.

But, first things first, she must quickly find Roger Jordan, the Principal of St. Augustine's to let him know what happened.

Still very upset, Lucy manages to run from the museum right across the wet lawn of the school. Unfortunately, her shoes had a mind of their own. They decided it would be much more fun to hinder Lucy and cause her embarrassment. Next thing Lucy knew she was falling to the ground. She could only imagine what she looked like. From there her day went haywire.

Trying to get up, she wasn't aware that there was someone standing over her trying to help. It was only when she made contact with his elbow and flailed even more that she realized she wasn't alone.

Almost as if a prayer had been answered, she looked up and stared into one of the most handsome face she had ever seen. The eyes looking back at her were filled with fire and a highly erotic sparkle. This couldn't be happening to her. Here she was down on the ground at the feet of the man of her dreams only to look up to find him wearing a collar; he was a man of the cloth. What a terrible trick fate was playing on her. In those first few moments she was sure she saw something pulling her inside those magnificent eyes. The expression upon his face was one of desire and passion. How could this be explained? He was a priest.

Welcome to St. Augustine's, Father Xavier. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. But, things are not as they seem. Sometimes when you least expect it, prayers are answered, though they might be a bit distorted at first.

What you'll discover in this wonderfully written novel is a superb dialogue between the characters. Catriona J. Reynolds has taken your normal everyday characters and turned them into pieces of art. They have minds that are overflowing with humor. I found this to be most entertaining, as it gave the story a semblance of reality and made for some very believable characters.

You'll meet Lucy's best friend and roommate, Julia, who is like the best friend everyone would like to have. She's fun and full of mischief. Another character, although not quite human, is Julia's pet cockatoo, Snigger. You'll discover detectives that have more on their mind than solving the crime. And there is a bit of nostalgia, too. I have been humming a famous Dean Martin song ever since I read the opening sentence to this delightful story.

Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, I give you Catriona J. Reynolds. FALLING FOR A FATHER is her first novel and I can't imagine it will be her last. She has a wonderful way with words and her talent with humor is one I have enjoyed greatly.
