It's "Barney Meets Sesame Street" in the new series, "There's a Dinosaur..." Artie the Apatosaurus and Dave meet in the unlikeliest of places... Dave's closet. From there, Dave and Artie learn about each other and how to deal with childhood fears. Each book celebrates overcoming a particular fear in an unobtrusive way.

Each book is filled with brightly-colored drawings that invite young readers into the story. Accompanying each book is a coloring book, which we hope will encourage young readers to draw the story.

Book 1: Artie is a baby apatosaurus. He hides in Dave's closet. Dave helps Artie overcome his fear of big places. Artie discovers bananas in the kitchen and a wonderful friend in Dave.

Noises in the Closet

Dave lay in bed thinking of what he'd like to do on his two days off from school. Deep in thought, he heard strange
noises coming from his bedroom closet. He didn't know what it could be. He jumped from his bed and ran over to
the closet. Putting his ear up against the door, he heard the noises again. Opening the closet, he saw two large eyes
staring back at him. He was scared. Upon further investigation and a little conversation, Dave found out what was sitting in his closet (knocking his things over) and he learned that it was more afraid of him than he was of it.

Gregory and Denise Michel's book "There's A Dinosaur in My Closet!" is a fun book for children. Dave, in the book,
becomes the creature's friend and tries coaxing him out of the closet. Dave leads him to the kitchen where he learns
what certain types of foods are.

This book encourages imagination and make-believe friends for younger children. "Believing can make wonderful
things happen."
