All good things must end.
Janice Dawson had it all. Spiritually, she felt alive knowing that God lived, blessed and loved all of his children. Temporally, Janice felt fulfilled with home schooling her two children, her cake decorating business, and supporting her husband's career.
Even so, Janice had felt things were going too well. Something was going to happen to her safe little world. Within an instant her world did turn topsy-turvy. They diagnosed Len, her husband, with terminal cancer giving him less than six months to live.
Within the short span of a novel, the Dawson family incurs devastation and devastation. Janice loses her husband and her faith. Then her brother-in-law, Paul, finds out that his wife, Katy, has leukemia. While Janice starts to rebuild her life, she now watches Paul nearly destroy his family after Katy goes home.
While not the usual romance, Bliss does have a story to tell. Faith goes a long way in the ways of lives devoted to the Lord. Yet death is devastating to those left behind. Bliss attempts to breach those barriers to show survivors life does go on. Even if a death has not separated your family, be sure to include TO LIVE AGAIN on your reading list.
Featured Author: Carolyn R. Scheidies, Author of This book reads more like women's fiction than genre romance. The depth of emotion and the "insider" knowledge about loss, made me wonder if the author either walked this path herself or was very close to those who had.
Set over a period of years, the story did not play down the loss of a loved one or manipulate the plot to force a quick, hope-filled conclusion. Instead, the plot evolves naturally from events and the characters' response.
The reader is left emotionally drained, but with the sure knowledge that with God all things do work together for good.
A good gift for someone who has lost a spouse.
Featured Author: Kathleen Culligan Techler for Romancing the Web Reviews (http://www.crosswinds.net/~romancingtheweb) In this Christian romance, Janice Dawson is very happily married to Len, a successful doctor. They have two wonderful little girls and an expensive home in an upscale neighborhood. But Janice has a terrible sense of foreboding.
Len and his older brother Paul have never been close, but Paul's wife Katy and Janice are very good friends. Paul and Katy's three children and Len and Janice's two get along wonderfully together.
When tragedy strikes, author Lauralee Bliss does a good job of showing each character's different pathway through the various stages of grief until at last there is acceptance. To Live Again contains much sadness, but with the characters' faith shining through, the book ends happily.

Featured Author: Sally G. Laturi, for Ivy Quill Reviews (http://www.ivyquill.com/tolive.htm) Janice and Leonard Dawson have a wonderful life and much to be thankful for. Everything is going so well...they have two wonderful daughters, a house, and Len's practice as a family doctor is fulfilling. The only hitch is the strained relationship between Len and his brother, Paul.
Everything is going so well...until one day Len is diagnosed with cancer. It falls to Janice to take care of Len as his health fails, to continue schooling their daughters, to try to maintain their relationship with Paul and his wife, Katy, and to try to hold on to her faith in God. After Len's death, Janice takes a job and tries to cope with her grief, but her faith has suffered. She's existing, but not truly living.
Tragedy strikes again only one year later, when Katy is also diagnosed with cancer. Leaving a devastated husband and three confused children behind her when she dies, Katy begged Janice to help Paul deal with his own grief. But how, when her own faith is shaky, can Janice possibly help Paul to find trust in God?
A story of strength, compassion and hope, To Live Again is a touching inspirational tale. Without preaching, Ms. Bliss has written a story about life and love, and the role that religion can play in both. The tragedies within the book are heartbreakingly sad, because the characters are just like people we all know.
While the romance in the story seems secondary to the inspiration, it's rewarding to watch the characters within this book learn to live again, because it's something so many of us have to deal with at one time or another. To Live Again is moving and poignant, and I'm happy to recommend it.
Featured Author: Lisa for Bookreviewcafe (http://www.bookreviewcafe.com/TOLIVEAGAIN.html) Lauralee Bliss writes a wonderful, heartwarming tale about two families coming together in a crisis and finding love even in a tragedy.
Len and Paul are brothers who have always butt heads with one another. Len turned out to be the most successful being a physician. Paul loves his job being a teacher, even though he was never supported in his decision in school.
Len's wife Janice, thought she led the perfect life. With two beautiful girls, a wonderful husband, a big house and her cake decorating business on the side, she had it all.
Until Len was diagnosed with cancer of the Liver. Since he didn't get it treated sooner, it was quickly taking over his body. A few months later, he died.
Janice had a hard time coping, but with the help of Paul and Katy, she got through the ordeal. She eventually turned her back on her faith in God. She thought she didn't need Him in her life because He took her husband away.
When Paul's wife Katy found out she had leukemia, everyone was devastated. So soon after Len's tragic death and now another family member. Six weeks later, she passed away also.
Paul felt like God had abandoned him and took Katy away. He couldn't deal with the pain of this magnitude. With the strength of Janice and her two girls, Paul find happiness within himself. Will he find it with Janice too? Is this what she wants?
This story is about having a loss in life, but through whatever your beliefs, you can rely on that to help you in your time of need. Sometimes you can't do everything by yourself. And usually some good will come out of situations when you least expect them to.

Featured Author: Amanda Killgore for E-Book Nook section at http://www.theromancereadersconnection.com It would seem on that Janice and Len Dawson have the ideal life with lovely children who Jan home schools, his job as a doctor, her cake decorating business, and a steady love. That all comes crashing down when Len collapses at work and is diagnosed with cancer. Over the next few months, Jan must cope not only with his steady physical decline, but with personality changes that accompany the disease. Len becomes a belligerent stranger, driving away those who love him. After his death, she is left to pick up the pieces of her life. Then life deals another blow when Jan's former sister in law is taken by leukemia months later, and Len's brother, Paul, needs her to help him get through his own recovery, though she is herself barely healed.
As I read this book, I found myself identifying almost too closely with the characters. Anyone who has ever gone through watching a loved one die by inches will see that this novel is a mirror of what they have been through. Like the characters, I found recovery from the pain that never goes away possible only with Christ's help. It is a tough book to read, but one I would recommend to anyone who is hurting; it gives a ray of hope that healing is possible.
