WHO OWNS THE RIVER? tells the story of a fisherman arguing with a fish about who owns the river, a farmer arguing with a wheat stalk about who owns the land, and a hunter arguing with a bird about who owns the sky. They are all so caught up in quarrelling and trying to prove themselves right that they don't hear the river, the land, and the sky's quiet voices answering the question of ownership.

Writer's Exchange has come up with a solid concept that makes reading online seem very much like reading a book. They take colorful illustrations and vivid text and put them into a book-like format.

In this picture book, the fisherman and fish argue who owns the river, the farmer argues with the wheat stalk about who owns the land, the hunter argues with the bird about who owns the sky. The answer to ownership becomes clear as the river, land and sky sing their song about caring for them because it all belongs to the creator for the use and sustenance of all.

The story and pictures complement one another and the text reads easily and well. This book is not only fun and entertaining, but also thought provoking. A good way to start a discussion on our responsibility toward our world.
