Sheryle Criswell
Born in Ohio, but spending many years in New York and North Carolina, I now lives in Richmond, Virginia, where I share a very exciting life in theatre with my actor/director husband, Alan, and my dog, Jake (who is often described as a six-year-old boy in a poodle suit).
As a Director, Drama teacher, Playwright, and Costume Designer for the past 30 years, I have won numerous awards for my plays, and directed or costumed over 60 plays to date. The author of 25 plays, among them: the Charles M. Getchell Southeastern Theatre Conference New Play Award, the Charlotte (NC) Repertory Theatre's Festival of New American Plays, the Eastern Illinois University New Playwrights Award, an Emerging Artists Grant 2000-2001 by the Durham (NC) Arts Council, the Dayton Playhouse FutureFest, twice, and most recently, the Brevard (NC) College Theatres New Play Competition for 2004, and the 2005 British Finals winner of the Geoffrey Whitworth Trophy. My plays have been produced across the US, in Newfoundland and Labrador, and in England and Wales; and some of them have been published by Southern Theatre Magazine and in an anthology by Dramatic Publishing.
Besides writing for the stage, I also am an award-winning artist with one work hanging in the permanent collection at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.
BERNIE BOLTON'S BIG APPLE CHRISTMAS, is the first of my BERNIE BOLTON BOOKS to be published, and Writers Exchange will also be publishing the second in the series, BERNIE BOLTONS BROTHER, and STRINGS, a novel about a young girls' 3- year nightmare during the Holocaust.
I am eternally grateful to Sandy and Writer's Exchange for giving my work a home.
This is fifteen-year-old Hanna Berkenski's journey from her family's tiny apartment in the Warsaw Ghetto, through the awful night she spends in a cattle-car with her mother and sister, to her three years as a violinist in the welcoming orchestra at Auschwitz.

Product Review
AWAKENING, Book One of Destiny's Dreamers, is a captivating read from the first page. The story moves back and forth in time from Kaylith's childhood to the present. Jack, born 120 years after Kaylith disappeared, plays an integral role as the one bright spot in Kaylith's otherwise dismal upbringing. Ms. Vinyard deftly weaves an intricate tale that will intrigue science fiction aficionados and touch the hearts of romance enthusiasts. Once you start reading this book, you won't want to put it down. Jack and Kaylith are perfectly suited for one another, destined by time and the gods to be soul mates. Kaylith, deemed to be one of the strongest Mindmasters of her time, needs a strong man at her side and has found that strength in Jack, as well as an innate gentleness. A strong cast of secondary characters adds warmth and humor to the story, with the interactions between them, as well as with Jack and Kaylith.
